Program Description

This Course provides a comprehensive understanding of various formwork systems and their critical role in construction. It covers fundamental principles, classifications, benefits, and objectives of formwork, emphasizing strategic material selection and the use of essential accessories, consumables, and tools. The course explores formwork types for foundations, walls, columns, slabs, and beams, including both conventional and system formwork, and teaches interpretation of conventional formwork drawings. Practical aspects, such as components, assembly, and deshuttering techniques, are also addressed. Additionally, the course delves into specialized applications like tunnel formwork, high-rise construction formwork, and climbing systems, using real-world case studies to equip learners with practical knowledge and skills for diverse construction challenges.

Course Objectives

  • Understand the significance, classifications, and various types of formwork systems, including those for foundations, walls, columns, slabs, and beams, covering both conventional and system formwork.
  • Proficient in selecting and utilizing appropriate formwork materials and accessories and tools.
  • Acquire the skills needed to assemble and deshutter foundation, wall, and column formwork, as well as Flex System-slab & Beam and Heavy-Duty Tower systems.
  • Develop the ability to interpret conventional formwork drawings and apply this knowledge practically in construction projects.
